Climate and Non-Climate Controlled
Do I need climate controlled storage space or a non-climate controlled space?
Climate-Controlled Storage - Some facilities are climate controlled to prevent mold or mildew and other moisture problem. A common setting for the facility humidistat is a maximum relative humidity of 50%, while a common temperature range for the thermostat is 50 to 80 degrees. PGSS suggests storing electronics, furniture, pictures and paper products in a climate controlled unit.
Non-Climate Storage - Most facilities offer non-climate or standard storage. This type of storage offers protection from the elements but offers no control of ambient temperature and humidity. Any item that you would normally store in a garage or storeroom can be stored in non-climate storage.
